ABOUT

Malena’s journey into production began with a box of hand-me-down gear from her older brother and a deep dive into YouTube tutorials. What started as a self-taught experiment quickly evolved into her first body of work: Aliso, the debut album of her solo project, released in 2018. That record opened the door to a growing collection of vintage and analog gear, and set the foundation for a practice rooted in texture, intuition, and hands-on craft.

Since then, Malena has produced for a range of artists across singles and EPs, though her own work remains at the center of her creative world, most recently with the release of her third album ‘If This Life Could Start Again’.

In 2023, she was awarded the British Arts Council’s Developing Your Creative Practice grant, which allowed her to deepen her technical skills alongside producers Dani Bennett Spragg (Wunderhorse, Sam Fender) and Luke Bower (Puma Blue, Rosie Lowe).

In 2025, she took on the role of studio manager and house engineer at Studio Novena in Mexico City, formalizing her experience within the recording world.

She has since been working on projects in Mexico City, London, and was invited to Bogotá, Colombia for production work.
